Accessories for Portable MP3 Players
If you have a portable MP3 player and dont want to buy an MP3 CD player for your car, a number of affordable solution may be at hand.
MP3 to Tape Adapters
An MP3-to-cassette adapter allows you to plug your MP3 player, via a wired tape into the cassette deck of your car stereo, and thus play your MP3s through the car speakers.
FM Transmitters
FM transmitters allow you to broadcast the music stored on your MP3 player to any FM radio - completely wirelessly. Simply find an empty frequency on your car radio, tune your transmitter to the same frequency and connect it to the player, and you'll be able to listen to your music through your radio. There are several universal models, as well as those specifically designed for certain brands of player.
FM transmitters are often battery driven, but some use the cigarette lighter socket in cars (in which case they may also be used to charge the player itself), or draw their power from the device itself. In the latter case, it is a good idea to have a charging cable for your player, as the transmitter will quickly deplete it of its power.
